It’s All Mind Set!

hous looks like a jungle

It may look and even feel like a jungle out there, but is it just the way you are viewing the world?

I am sure you have heard that in order to get anywhere in life you need to work hard. Your parents, Aunt, Uncle and even a teacher would have said something at some time in your life.  You need to study harder, longer to be able to pass that test. You need to clean your room, work harder and faster so you can go outside to play. Then when you became an adult you would hear from your boss, work harder and you will get that promotion, or that job you want. Think about what motivated you, when you were a kid it was being able to go outside and play with all your friends. As an adult it is advancing in your place of work, creating a bigger income for you and getting recognition for your hard work.

So how is that different to the ‘Jungle’ you are dealing with online?

There really is not much of a difference to working online or locally.  You still need to work hard to advance in your company to create that income stream that you are wanting to achieve.  Every free waking moment you will need to learn how to juggle work, family and online.  It won’t be easy, in fact it will be difficult and there will be days you will want to quit. However, if you have the right mind set you can succeed. Make sure that you have a big enough WHY, this I would post by your working space, you will need tools (learning, personal development and support).  There are literally millions of people online every day, worldwide!  Some people are online to connect with friends and family, some to play games, others to do business.  You already have connections online so you already have thousands of people seeing your content daily or weekly.  So be careful with what you post, even if you only have 50 people as friends on Facebook for example, those 50 people have friends also and their friends have friends and so on.  For example: Joe has 50 friends, he sends me a friend request and I have 4800 friends, so now Joe is connected with my 4800 friends because they can see him commenting on my wall and now see who he is.  So by adding one friend you have expanded your social network circle by thousands. See not only can Joe now see my wall and the 4800 friends I have but they can see him and their friends can see him also.  It is like a domino effect.

Are you in the ‘selling’ mind set or ‘you will love this’ mind set?

If you are in the selling mind set for your business/products/services, you are doomed to fail or take much longer to reach the top of the ladder.  People don’t like being approached by a ‘sales’ person, they already have their guard up when you approach them.  Think about it this way, put yourself in their shoes for a moment. You walk into a computer store to browse and perhaps pick up a new mouse, a sales person walks up to you (they earn commission on all sales) this person now tries selling you a whole new computer system with a bunch of programs.  They don’t listen to you saying all you need is a mouse, not a whole new computer.  How does that make you feel not being listened to and someone trying to sell you something you don’t need?  Another problem with this ‘sales’ mind set is that you begin to expect objections and resistance. Once you start thinking like this your whole posture changes, the tone in your voice and a whole other bunch of ways people pick up on. So when you approach someone you are being pushed away and shut down immediately by your so called prospect.

If you change your mind set to the you are going to love this and will buy this, then you will find people will come to you and not run from you. By knowing your products/services very well you don’t need to ‘sell’ you will be so excited and passionate about it, people will feel this and want to know more.  So to be successful and not a sales person, change your mind set to someone that is a friend and you want to help.  Find out what someone needs in life and if your products or services can help this person then you can create a conversation with that person showing them what you have to offer, how it will help them improve their life.  Be able to answer questions and if you don’t know the answer know who to go to for those answers. If you are doing cold calls at random, make sure you build up the relationship first, by just sending them your business proposition right away you will be spending more time finding qualified people.  The same goes for online work, that is very similar to cold calling, do you want to build a business with people you know and like, or with people that don’t you don’t like.  Make sure you understand that you don’t need to like everyone but you do need to be able to work with them together as a team. Communication is key and if that does not happen then it will be like a one man show.

So keep building those relationships, be careful with what you put out in the universe with your mind set and don’t be a sales person. Learn how to communicate, know your company and products. Be a product of the product and just learn to relax and have fun.  Yes it takes work, but having fun at it is important, so keep your WHY close by all the time, get away from behind this screen and go outside, talk to people.

Build Relationships!

Relationships, the Good, the Bad and the Ugly

ginamorrisnourish

We have all heard of getting rid of the negative, toxic people in our lives.  Well it is not as easy as that if some of these people are family and sometimes we don’t even recognize that in people either.  You become so accustomed to the way things are in your life, you accept it and just deal with it.

Not it is time to open your eyes and make sure that you do have the right people in your life.

1. The one’s who never return your call.

We are all busy in our lives, but when a friend or family member calls it is important to take time to talk to them.  The      ones you are not returning your call or even just picking up the phone to chat are not really there for you.

If this is a constant problem, then it is time to reconsider this relationship. Quit stressing over unanswered calls, or calls not returned. It is time to move on, perhaps one day they will, but don’t put your life on hold for these people.

2.  The one’s who are not there for you during crisis.

During our life time we will all go through some sort of crisis.  It is part of learning and growing.  It is during this time in your life that you see who is truly your friend.  The ones who talk to you, comfort you and encourage you.  The ones who suddenly do a disappearing act, they are not your true friends.  I bet though when you are successful they will suddenly re-appear!  Do you really want a ‘friend’ like that?

So be careful and watch who is truly your friend and sticks around.  Push the ones away that are only there during the good times.

3.  Then there are the one’s who are always taking and not giving.

Here I am not talking about just gifts, or money, I am talking about your time and emotions also.  Do you have that one friend that you always feel exhausted after you have talked on the phone or hung out?  They are like a leach, they cling to you, sucking every ounce of energy from you. Their life is always in turmoil and they are not doing anything to help themselves.  Yet, they take from you your time and energy.

These people are draining and toxic.  There really isn’t much you can do to help this person besides walking away.  We cannot fix everyone’s life. Not everyone is ready for that to happen.  So be careful of the leaches in your life.

4.  The abusive relationship.

As we all know abuse can come in many ways from people.  Verbal, physical and mental are just three forms of abuse. These are quite serious and need to be dealt with immediately.  Being supportive to someone that is going through this is important to being a good friend.  But what if it is you going through this and your friends don’t help?  Seek professional help, approach a family member or friend.  There is no need to feel embarrassed or ashamed, men and women can be abused.  Hiding this only causes this issue to continue. Bullies grow up to be bullies.

Get help and get out of this abusive relationship as soon as possible.  You deserve better than this.

So dump the ‘friends’ that are toxic, stick with the good friends.

Always live life to its fullest, be happy and keep moving forward to reach your goals.

Push those obstacles out of your life!

Could you survive if you lost your job?

GinaMorrisplanBIf you were to lose your job what would you do to survive? If you couldn’t find a replacement quick enough or you were injured and could not work any more, have you thought about what would happen?  Five years ago this happened to me and I was not prepared.  I didn’t lose my job, I was hurt at work, many people would think that there would be enough help with insurance companies (otherwise known as Worker’s Compensation Board), and other Government income providers.

I think now the time has come for me to tell my story and in doing so I pray I can help other people to be prepared, or at least find some support.  It has not been an easy road to travel for my daughter and myself.  In fact it has been the most difficult time for us, that most people would not understand unless they have walked down this road also.  Do you realize that now is the time for anyone that is able to work, for you to plan ahead and do something that will protect yourself and your family?  I will tell you why and how with telling our story.

I am sure you have heard of chain of actions creates a domino effect.  One thing happens to create another thing to happen.  Well our story starts before I was injured at work.  It starts with losing my job of many years, due to government cutbacks at work, I was forced into doing another job.  I didn’t have the funds to be out of work for a long period of time, Education was not an option either (even though I am educated to work with kids, I didn’t have a trade).  Going back to school would have been expensive and I’d have had to lived off a student loan, definitely not enough to cover raising a kid, living expenses, car payment, and education costs.  So I did what any responsible parent would do, take the best job that was available, that would provide for my daughter and myself.  The only problem with this job is that is was not union, did not have benefits and was also much less income.  So when I got hurt at work I didn’t have the union backing me up, I had myself and WCB to totally rely on.  Well what a learning experience this has been!  I am sure you have heard of government red tape, having to jump through all their hoops and fighting for your rights.  Do you know that they rely on their decision making through their own doctors and dis-regard what specialists will say?  It is true.  Do you know that in Canada there is not any lawyer to help on contingency?  You need to have money and lots of it to hire a lawyer.  Roughly $2500 down and that won’t last long, and the cases are obviously complicated and will therefore take a long time to resolve.  Are you aware that some people will fight for their rights and help for many years.  That most people give up this fight because they can’t take it any more and they give up.  Many people that end up in the situation I did will have to file for bankruptcy, will lose their house, vehicles and 100% of their savings for retirement.  You lose everything you have worked your whole life for because of an injury.

So what would YOU do if this happened to you?  Are you prepared to lose everything and fight years for your rights?  Or will you be willing to do something today that could help for tomorrow?  I wish that I had been told all this many years ago, but I was brought up with being told, go to school, get a job, work and save.  That did not prepare me for what if’s in life.  It did not prepare me for being forced out of the work force well before retirement years.  See I am a fighter, a single mom and always supported my kids.  So when I ended up off work I searched for something that would help replace my income.

I learned about internet marketing, network marketing, MLM, whatever you want to call it. Has it been easy? No! Of course not!  I had to do a lot of learning, making many mistakes along the way, and I also had to re-program my brain.  I didn’t know anything about this type of work 5 years ago.  In my opinion, I think they should be teaching this in schools, right from first grade. So what is this type of work?  What do you need to do in order to be able to earn an income to provide for your family?  You need to read, listen to videos on personal development, and most importantly you need to talk to people.  Without building relationships with people you won’t learn, you won’t build up a following, and you won’t get the respect from people.  This all takes dedication and a fight for winning.  You can’t just join a business and expect for it to start paying you without working for that success.  You have to make mistakes, get those No’s, keep learning and talking.  If you are searching for that silver platter, it will only cost you time and money.

I have lost a lot of money, but most importantly I have learned, and never quit!  I have learned a lot from some of the top leaders in the industry, I am not afraid to get on the phone and talk with them. I feel very fortunate to have been able to be asked to join the company I am in, working with the leaders that are in the top 1% earning bracket in the company.  I may not yet be at the financial goal I want to be at, but I am working towards that.  It is just a matter of time before that happens, and I know it will this year.  See when I joined this company I wanted something that would always be around, something people would need and to work for a company that actually works with you towards your success.  Have you ever worked one on one with top leaders?  Have you ever gotten weekly phones calls from head office?  Is the company you are working for or thinking of joining have credibility?  Will they be around for years because the products are scientifically proven to be the best on the market?

We have the proof that our company will be around, that our products are the best.  I invite you to have a look at the study and ask me questions.  Also, I invite you to have a look at the products and do a comparison to your products that you use every day.  If you are interested in learning more about my company I invite you to check out my website, but you will need a password for the video, so you will need to contact me.

If you want to be able to survive if you lost your job, let’s connect, chat and discuss your options. If anything we will both have a new friend 🙂

Making a difference for children.

It has been brought to my attention about a week ago that there are quite a few kids that are needing dental care that is not covered.  Having spoken to a friend of mine on the phone I found that there is a definite need for some financial help for these kids to be able to have their dental care provided.  I would like to be able to help provide the funds through this fundraiser to bring an awareness of the lack of funds available for families to provide emergency care for their kids.  Not everyone has the luxury of having benefits with the company they work for, and many other’s don’t have the proper coverage.  We need to address this issue because having healthy kids does mean having healthy teeth. Your teeth are an important tool for eating, but they also can cause health issues for people also if the proper treatments are not provided.  Pain can cause a lack of sleep, concentration and diet problems.  I am looking for support in being able to help get this fundraiser going to help many children that need dental care.  Please share the fundraiser to help bring an awareness. I thank anyone who has helped by sharing and donating to this cause.  I also invite people to comment on the page if your child needs dental care that you cannot afford.

Safety Tips For Winter Travel and Home

I grew up with lots of snow as a child, we would get so much snow we could actually touch the tops of the telephone poles.  When the snow plow went down our road you could hear it coming, as it would pass our house all you would see would be the antenna.  We would go up in the bush to go toboganning with the family, lighting a bon fire, eating marshmallows and hot dogs.  The hot chocolate warmed us up as we would take off for another run down the steep hill.  If we didn’t go to the bush, we would go to the local elementary school and join the many other kids out enjoying the snow.  Every year we would have the biggest snowman, so big that it would take a bunch of us kids to roll the snow balls around and then put them on top of each other.  That is the fun part of winter for a child and even some adults.   fromfuntofortune21

However, winter can be something that can cause a lot of issues if you are not prepared for it.  You always need to make sure you are dressed warm, with a winter coat, mitts, hats, and good boots with grips.  There is nothing worse than not being prepared and getting cold.  Our temperatures can drop suddenly, especially when the sun goes down, to negative temperatures.  Not being dressed warm enough, you are able to get frost bite on exposed skin or even hypothermia if you are exposed to the cold for too long.

People living in snowy areas always need to change their tires over on their vehicles also.  During the summer we have summer tires, but these tires would not be acceptable for winter driving, in fact it is illegal by the insurance companies.  People have to put good winter tires on, something that will grab when you hit ice on the roads, compact snow and slush.  Driving in the winter can be dangerous for new drivers especially, or drivers that have never driven in snow/ice before.  There are many major accidents due to people driving too fast for the road conditions every winter where I live, and even deaths.  Taking into consideration the road conditions and watching the weather reports is part of being in this environment.  If the speed limit says 80 km that does not mean you will be driving that speed, often if the roads are bad, you could be traveling half that speed.  You also need to know that stopping on snow/icey roads takes much longer, there is no locking of the breaks for sudden stops, so you need to always be alert to what is going on around you.

Before you take off in your vehicle for any trips, it is advisable to have candles, flashlights, water, blankets, flares and food.  You always keep your vehicle full of gas, make sure you have the radiator filled with cold temperature antifreeze and windshield washer fluid.  On a road trip you have no idea what will happen, could be an accident, a avalanche or even road closure due to heavy snow fall.  You never want to be stuck in your vehicle somewhere not prepared for an emergency.  Also, something that I have always done is let someone know where I am going and when I intend on coming back. Traveling on these mountain roads you never know if you go off the road how long it will be before someone comes along again.

2012-07-05 12.44.51

So even the snow we get here looks beautiful there are saftey measures we always need to take into consideration.  We always have enough food in the house to last for days, the car is always full of gas, we have flashlights and candles in the house ready to use and a lot of blankets.  If the power was to go out for days we would have no heat, but we do have a fire pit and wood in the back yard so we could warm up outside, and for cooking we can cook over the fire pit and also the BBQ.

Always be safe and prepared whether you are at home or traveling this time of the year.

Cheers,

Gina

Why Christmas is the Best Time Of the Year to Start A New Business

Christmas is my most favorite time of the year, the fresh snow on the ground, a warm house smelling of fresh baked goodies and icicles hanging off the roof.  The lights always make the house look great from the outside, shining off the snow and glistening off the icicles.  When you walk into my house you will see Christmas in fromfuntofortune23every room, my kids and I have always decorated the house fully for the holidays.  We would go out and grab a tree, sometimes even from the bush, but most of the time from the Boy Scouts.  We would bring the tree home and start setting it up.  Our tradition was to have goodies out, eggnog and pop.  For me I’d make what I call Santa’s Helper’s, which is a shot of dark rum, Kahlua, eggnog and coke.  Now it is just my younger daughter and me doing this together, we have a lot of laughs and the tree always looks beautiful.  We will usually go visit family for the holidays and the smell of the turkey fills the house all day, we munch on such a lot of food all day that I am surprised we all find room to eat heartily of the turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, brussel sprouts and many other good things to eat.

After dinner is done and clean up finished with we all sit laughing, playing games of pool or a board game.  Having glasses of rum and eggnog, or wine and of course sweets.  Sometimes if we are feeling fromfuntofortune5energetic some of us will go for a walk, taking the dogs and enjoy the fresh air with snow falling.  Usually it will snow Christmas Day for us, making it that more magical and special.

If you look on the roof tops you will be able to see the hoof prints of Santa’s reindeer from the previous night.  🙂

Christmas for my family has always been a special time for us all to catch up and have a great visit as we all live so far away from each other.  The sounds of the kids unwrapping their gifts and watching cousins play together is always very special for me as a parent.

It is a time for us all to gather together and spend quality time together reflecting over the past year and talking about the New Year coming up.

2014 is just about over again and how it has flown by so fast.  I had made a promise to my family that this is my year for change and I have done that.

Now I’d like to share with you what I have been doing that has changed my families life.  This may sound crazy but this is the best time of the year to start a home based business.  It is a time for New Years resolutions and a time for change.

Every year we all spend a lot of money on presents, racking up our credit cards and overspending.  It can take us months to pay this off and it always causes regrets after because we have gone and spent over what our budgets permit.  If you were to start this home fromfuntofortune37business this year you can save money on your gifts and earn money back also.  You will actually earn a pay check for shopping!  How cool is that.  Also, if you start now you will be financially free next year for Christmas and be able to have more free time to spend with your family over the holidays.  You can even help family out and give the give of a home business to them.

Now is the time to start a new home business also because if you are like me and don’t like the crowds of people, trying to do last minute shopping and having to deal with snowy roads.  You can now shop from the comfort of your own home.  You now have time to spend sharing your new business with other families that could use an extra income or have always wanted to work full time from home.

Over the holidays you will be seeing so many people that you can share this with and you will have lots of free time to do this also.  Youfromfuntofortune33 will have time off from your job, so why not spend some time talking to people and helping them do what you do.  Show them the tax breaks for owning a home based business, the great products and the fantastic income potential.

What is your New Year’s Resolution for 2015?GinaMorrisHawaii6

  • to take your wife on a honeymoon

Whatever your dreams and goals are they are obtainable.  You can start today to make those resolutions become a reality.  Having your own home based business will change that for your family for Christmas in 2015 and many more years from now on.

Plantar Warts: Apply oil undiluted to affected area 2-3 times daily.

Psoriasis: Add 10 drops oil to 1 tbsp carrier oil and massage into affected areas. Repeat 2-3 times daily. Also can be applied undiluted.

Being informed and educated.

There are many different products in the market for us to choose from when we go shopping.

If you are like my family, you will want to save money, but not lose on the quality of the products by saving money.

I am going to list off some products that we use, let you know our experiences with them, and how much they cost compared to other brands.

Diamond Brite is a dishwasher package cost me $6.50 for 20 washes.  I used to purchase Finish and that would cost me about $8.50 for 20 washes. So right there I have already saved $2.00 on that one item.  Now my experience with Finish was good, I’ll admit it was one of the better ones out there that cleaned my dishes.  However, I changed stores and started using Diamond Brite and my dishes came out just as clean in fact even cleaner, there were no rejects for a second wash.  The biggest change was that my dishwasher for the past 2 years has been running terrible, it would leave a few inches of water in the bottom and some days up to four inches.  We had to use the shop vac to suck out all the water, there was a horrible orange slime in the bottom that we constantly had to wash out.  The dishes were not always cleaned properly either.  The plumber said that he would have to replace the motor a few months ago and that would be $50 for the motor and $100 for labor.  Well since using Diamond Brite I started noticing that the dishes were clean, the water was all gone and there is no orange slime.  In fact my dishwasher is white inside now.

Total savings for buying Diamond Brite:  $152.00

Sci Bella (which means beautiful) has a product line and I have used the shampoo and conditioner.  Now for this I did want to prove this by doing a video but it is hard to go back to the other brands or shampoo and conditioner I was using.  My hair is just about down to my waist now, it matts up very badly, in fact I had products from hair salons that I have tried and must have spent $100’s of dollars on different things to help with the tangled mess.  My hair looks so much better now and I can actually comb through it without breakage now.  My comb is testimony to the lack of hair showing up on there.  All I have done is to purchase the Sci Bella Shampoo, Conditioner and De-tangler. Each product cost me $19.98 We will round this off to $20 so it total I spent $60 in hair products.  At the salon I would buy bottles of shampoo, conditioner and detangler. Each bottle would cost me roughly $25 (I think most times was more but we will just average this out) So the total cost would be $75 for these items.  So buying from my store I have now saved $15.  My biggest saving on these products though has been my hair!  It was breaking all the time because I couldn’t get the comb through it without it ripping, and as it was combed it would start tangling again.  NOW my hair does not do that, even now hours after my shower it is still not tangled.

Total savings for buying Sci Bella products: Priceless.

You may be wondering now about this product line I am using in my home?

I would hope you are anyways, because most people do like to save money.

What if you could become a customer and save money on products for your family?

Makes sense doesn’t it….well what makes even more sense is the fact that they are also NATURAL.  So now not only are you saving yourself money but you are also saving health issues, being kind to your home environment and earning money back.

When you go shopping at Sam’s Club do they give you money back?

Are you buying natural products already?

Are you purchasing products at the gym for more energy?

Are you aware of the toxins in the products you are using?

Did you think that using natural would be more expensive?

Our Sci Bella facial lotion for example is $1.00 cheaper than Oil of Olay.

The Tub N Tile costs about $6 but makes up 6 bottles.  You purchase Tilex at $6.00 and that is only one bottle.

The laundry soap we have is safe for all fabrics.  If you compare that to another brand you would have to buy 3 bottles compared to the one from my store.

19 Ways To Keep Your Pets Safe This Summer!

Safety tips for cats and dogs at home
1. Let your dog swim in the backyard pool, if he wants to. This is a good way for him to cool off, but remember to hose him down afterward because chlorine may irritate his skin. Never leave a pet unattended around a pool. Small dogs and cats are at a higher risk for drowning than medium to large dogs.

2. Use sunscreen, especially if your dog or cat has white hair, light skin or has a short coat. Protect the areas around the nose and ears, but use as little as possible. Since there are no commercially available animal sunscreens, check with your vet about using a baby sunscreen with a zinc-oxide base.

3. If your dog has thick or long hair, trim his coat before the hot weather hits so that it is two to three centimeters long. The heat will be more bearable.

4. Provide plenty of fresh water inside your home and out. Be sure to change the water two to three times a day to keep the water clean because bacteria grows rapidly in warm weather.

5. Avoid long, intense walks when it is too hot or humid. How well he handles the heat depends on your pet’s age and breed. Asphalt can become extremely hot and burn his paws; walking on grass is more comfortable. If a heat or smog warning has been issued, skip the walk.

6. Keep pets away from bee hives. A facial sting may cause eyelids to swell shut. Talk to your vet about using an antihistamine in case of emergency.

7. Protect your pet from black fly and mosquito bites by making a homemade repellent. Slice two lemons, add 1 cup (250 milliliters) of hot water and a couple sprigs of rosemary; soak overnight. Pour it into a spritz bottle and spray directly on your pet’s coat. Be sure to avoid the eyes.

8. If your cat goes outside, don’t plant lilies in your garden because they are toxic if eaten. Even a small amount can lead to kidney failure and death.

9. Avoid using toxic chemicals, such as pesticides and herbicides, in any area where your pet might wander. Your garden center will help you with natural-based pest and weed control.

Pet safety: On the road
10. Try test drives if your pet suffers from motion sickness. Your vet may prescribe medication if your pet suffers from ill effects during travel.

11. Feed him about four hours before you leave to avoid an upset stomach.

12. Keep your cat in a carrier when in the car. If you don’t, he can quickly escape when the car door is opened.

13. Take along a first-aid kit, water and your pet’s own food to help avoid digestive problems. Offer small amounts of food and water regularly if in the car for more than four hours. Jot down the number of the closest vet to your destination and along your route.

14. Use a life jacket designed for your dog in a boat or canoe. Just like humans, dogs are at risk for drowning if the canoe tips and they become exhausted.

Car alert: When the temperature is 25ºC, a car interior can reach 36ºC in 10 minutes and 42ºC in 20 minutes. Never leave your pet in a car. Even opening the windows will not cool down the inside enough.

Caged pets
15. Never leave caged pets, such as rats, rabbits, ferrets and hamsters, outside for more than a few hours because they are particularly sensitive to the heat. If you want your bunny to enjoy the summer weather, keep her under some deep shade.

16. Provide your pet with something cool to lean on, such as a piece of marble, will relieve her from the heat.

17. Your birds should never be kept directly in the sun, even though most birds can handle, and even enjoy, the heat. Keep their water cool and fresh. Fill a spray bottle with lukewarm water and cool your bird down with a refreshing mist.

18. Even though reptiles are desert creatures, it is not recommended to keep them in direct sunlight because they can get a sunburn. Mark Koenig, owner of Exotic Wings & Pet Things in St. Clements, Ont., says that if you’d like your iguana to get some fresh air, do so before 11 a.m. and after 4 p.m.

19. Fish need protection, too. The water in a fish tank should be between 68ºC and 74ºC. Direct sunlight will heat the water up quickly, so keep your fish indoors. If the water does get warm, a great way to cool it down without having to change the tank is to place a small handful of ice cubes in a sealed plastic bag in the tank.
